The Larapinta Trail is regarded as one of Australia’s premier walking tracks. From the old Alice Springs Telegraph Station to the peak of Mount Sonder, the trail stretches 223 kilometres along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges. As part of this challenge participants will trek over 60kms of the trail.

Every dollar raised on this challenge will help keep Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms and Learning Program in Victoria and Tasmania available every day of the year, and ensure financial contribution required from the families who stay with us remains as low as possible. To do so, we need to raise over 5 million dollars every year to keep all four houses operating. We receive no government funding; instead, we rely solely on the support of passionate members of our community.

Ronald McDonald House Charities VicTas

Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania is a not for profit dedicated to providing a 'home away from home' for families with a seriously ill child undergoing specialist paediatric care. We have 3 Ronald McDonald Houses at Hobart, Monash and Parkville, all with bedrooms, communal kitchens, dining, living areas, playrooms and outside lounge and play areas. We also operate Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Monash, Northern, Sunshine and Wodonga Hospitals to provide respite for families off the ward, including showers, laundry facilities, nap rooms and kitchens. Our Ronald McDonald Learning Program ensures unwell children at risk of missing out on crucial schooling have access to the supports they need to reintegrate into the classroom.
